Only being one track on the disc, we have a Japanese Stereo track. The single track is very nice, and I didn't notice any drop-outs or disortions. I'll note on the subtitles. The subtitles should be yellow, but seem to appear as a bright yellow (or sometimes even white). When I zoom in on the picture, the color goes to normal, but it's strange. Pioneer have used this font many times, including the Cardcaptor Sakura movie, and Tenchi Forever, but they were yellow.
VIDEO: A-
I'm not going to complain about the shaking in episode 13, because it is most likely a sorce material problem, and it's not very bothersome. The picture is very beautiful. I didn't see much artifacting, or bleeding. There was some rainbowing here and there, but not bad.
PACKAGING: A+
The cover image of Sakura in her "magical-looking" outfit is very cute, as how all of the Cardcaptor Sakura covers are. Add some blue and you have a beautiful DVD case to place in your collection. The spine, thankfully includes both English and Japanese logos (the VHS had one on each spine). The back has an assortment of screen captures, very nice. It's quite cluttered with a summary, episode listing, and all these credits, that Pioneer seems that they had to place, and with a big font too (they have these credits on the closings and the DVD credits too!). The insert has a nice shot of Sakura and Kero, which a scene index (Yay! Six chapter stops an episode!). The first printing of this disc will also include a spiffy pencil board as an apology for the delay of the release of this disc. The disc has an image of the "Power" card. The disc is packaged in a white Scanavo case.
MENUS: B+
The menus consist of static screens, I guess mainly since Pioneer didn't want the picture to be too compressed. The main menu has a nice shot of Sakura in her summer clothes, with Kero-chan. We get three selections, Play, Scenes, and Extras. The scenes menu is done all on one page. With one screen capture per episode and a listing (in a slightly small font) of the chapter stops. The extra menu is done twice, quite cute. Since the subtitles (which are optioned on Extras) are defaulted to off, so first, Kero-chan is jumping on a small bed, and when you set the subtitles on, Kero-chan sits on the bed which is now broken.
EXTRAS: B
The only extra, aside from the pencil board, is the image gallery, which includes 24 pieces of artwork. We mainly have sketches for Kero-chan, Touya, and Sakura's costumes. There is also some background artwork and a sketch of "Power".
CONTENT: A
Cardcaptor Sakura continues to be a great Magical Girl series. For those who haven't seen much of the series. Sakura Kinomoto has to collect the powerful Clow Cards before they cause mischief in the world. Now for the short episode synopsis.

In episode 13 ("Sakura and the Elephant's Test of Strength"), Sakura and her class go to a school field trip to the zoo, but a Clow Card makes trouble there, and it tries to prove it's strength.
In episode 14 ("Sakura, Toya, and Cinderella"), Touya's high school has a school fair, and Yukito invites Sakura and her friends to go. But, during a play of a strange version of Cinderella, a Clow Card causes danger for the show's leading roles.
In episode 15 ("Sakura and Kero's Big Fight"), Sakura and Kero-chan get into a big argument about Kero-chan having a place for his own. When Sakura finds that Kero-chan had made a mess of her desk drawer, to make himself a small home, she gets really mad. Being upset, Kero-chan decides to eat chocolate from a package that doesn't belong to him, so after, it's discovered that the chocolate has achohal, and Kero-chan gets lost in the city. Kero-chan meets a young girl, Akane, who finds him.
In episode 16 ("Sakura and the Rainbow of Memories"), Sakura and her family go to a summer house for vacation. There she meets a lonely old man. She quickly befriends him and they play games like Tennis, and he invites her into his home. Lots of secrets are revealed in this episode.
So ends the 96 minutes of Cardcaptor Sakura for this disc. This disc was full of laughs, interesting card captures, and great drama (gets a tissue). I hope I can get the next DVD soon!
